Meet Captain Vicki Norman
Southern California native. Lifelong boater. USCG-licensed captain, Freedom Boat Club trainer, PADI Divemaster — and proud 2026 Boating Industry Women Making Waves award recipient.
With more than 30 years in the marine industry — from publishing Powerboat Magazine and testing 500+ high-performance boats to offshore racing and competitive waterskiing — I’ve pretty much made a life out of chasing speed, saltwater, and great days on the water.
Since 2018, I’ve trained over 350 Freedom Boat Club members, covering everything from basic docking to advanced navigation, multi-engine handling, tow-sports safety, and offshore driving.
My style is hands-on, patient, and built around you — helping you feel confident, capable, and completely at home behind the helm… while actually having fun doing it.
